What can I expect from working with you?
I approach my clients with a non-judgmental and curious mindset, valuing their unique experiences and perspectives. I recognise that we are all interconnected within various systems, including our families, cultures, religions, communities, and society as a whole. When working with clients, I hold these factors in mind.
I adopt a zoom-in and zoom-out approach to therapy, aiming to deeply understand how individuals, couples, or families make sense of the issues they bring. I zoom in to explore their unique perspectives and experiences, while also zooming out to consider how these issues fit within a broader context. It is crucial for us to collaboratively examine the client's relationship with the challenges they face, which necessitates exploring the issue from multiple angles. By doing so, we gain a comprehensive understanding of the situation and open up possibilities for meaningful change.

What's the difference between having sessions in person vs remotely?
Non-verbal communication plays a significant role in the therapeutic relationship, and at times, it can be easier to pick up on non-verbal cues when face-to-face. However, since the onset of the pandemic, many individuals have successfully developed strong therapeutic connections through telephone sessions and video conferencing platforms like Zoom and Teams. Despite the physical distance, these virtual mediums have proven effective in maintaining meaningful therapeutic relationships.
Throughout my years of experience, both before and during the pandemic, I have engaged with clients through various mediums, including telephone, one-to-one chat, face-to-face, and email. Whether you prefer face-to-face or remote sessions, the choice is entirely up to you. In some cases, a blended approach that combines different mediums may be the most convenient option. Rest assured, my focus remains on creating a supportive and effective experience for you.
Currently, I offer in-person sessions in Hackney E8 on Sunday afternoons, as well as online sessions on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions required varies from person to person. As a general recommendation, I suggest that whichever therapist you choose, it is beneficial to commit to a minimum of 6 sessions. In my practice, I regularly review the therapy progress and ask my clients to initially commit to this minimum of 6 sessions. At the third session, we will assess our working relationship and explore any adjustments that may be beneficial. However, I value feedback at any point during therapy. If, after the initial 6 sessions, we mutually agree to continue our work together, we can discuss recontracting for an additional 6 to 12 sessions or consider an open-ended contract.
